Ski Area test awarded KitzSki the International Piste Seal of Quality in Gold in 2012/13, 2013/14, 2015/16 and 2018/19
KitzSki has once again come out on top against national and international competition, winning the hotly contested prestigious Ski Area Test awards. For the first time it has been crowned the OVERALL WINNER receiving 56 out of a possible 60 points.
It is also the first time that the International Piste Seal of Quality in Gold has been won by a Tirolean ski area and it emphasises the efficiency of the entire Bergbahn Kitzbühel team. The snow groomer’s trophy completes the picture perfectly in terms of piste quality and management.
But what makes our ski area such a mecca for skiers and snowboarders? Perhaps it’s the 230 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes for everyone from expert skiers to novices, the 57 modern chairlifts and cable cars, the guaranteed snow from October until May and the unspoiled natural surroundings. And of course there’s also the very special “Kitz flair” that enchants all of our visitors...
It has so far put 347 cable cars and tourist destinations to the test. The test team comprises a total of 220 industry experts (including executives, journalists, cable car staff, business experts and experienced amateur skiers) who anonymously judge the ski areas in the Alps.
They consider a range of categories, including: general information and guidance, cable cars and lifts, barriers and crossing signs, snow-making systems, cable car staff, mountain restaurants/ski huts, cashiers, children’s activities, marketing, events, ski schools and sports shops.
