Where to Ski & Snowboard – The UK’s biggest guidebook to the top 1,000 winter sports areas in the world named us “Most Improved Resort” for the outstanding ski area development in recent years.
KitzSki now finds itself in the exalted company of three other leading international destinations: Tignes, Verbier and Val Gardena. The ski resort guide “Where to Ski”, weighing in at over 700 pages, has been reviewing the world's top ski areas every year since 1994 and enjoys cult status among the UK’s discerning winter sports community.
But what makes our ski region such a mecca for skiers and snowboarders? Perhaps it’s the 215 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes for everyone from expert skiers to novices, the 54 modern chairlifts and cable cars, the guaranteed snow from October until May and the unspoiled natural surroundings. And of course there’s also the very special “Kitz flair” that enchants all of our visitors... and of course we can’t forget the world-famous “Streif”.
“This new award is especially important to us because it was won in what is one of the most competitive and important source markets for our ski area. That our dynamic quality offensive has achieved the highest international recognition emphatically confirms the sustainability of the strategy we have chosen," said Dr Joseph Burger, BAG Board Chairman, praising the award as an acknowledgement of Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel's achievements and as a reinforcement of the brand positioning of the entire KitzSki region in Kitzbühel | Kirchberg.
