Our ski area lies nestled between the Kitzbüheler Horn and Hahnenkamm. The Kitzbüheler Horn, Hahnenkamm, Fleckalm and Pass Thurn all feature perfectly groomed pistes, plenty of variety and, of course, cosy and rustic ski huts where you can stop off for refreshments and relaxation. The Kitzbühel | Kirchberg ski area in Tirol boasts 215 kilometres of perfectly prepared and marked pistes – including 15 valley runs – making it ideal for beginners, regular holiday skiers and advanced winter sports enthusiasts.
With our 54 lifts, we are also Austria’s largest cable car company. The cable cars offer the highest levels of comfort, including heated seats. They are pleasant, modern and stress-free. We also have 1,068 snowmaking machines in operation. With 10 lakes holding a total capacity of approx. 725,000 m³, the number of reservoirs is also impressive.
But why does the Kitzbühel|Kirchberg ski area hold such a fascination for winter sports enthusiasts? Firstly, one of the main reasons is most likely the extraordinary beauty of our surroundings. Secondly, we offer 215 kilometres of slopes and 36 kilometres of marked ski routes in all degrees of difficulty, action-packed snowboard fun parks, natural toboggan runs, plus hundreds of kilometres of cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails.
The Gamsstadt is also associated with a unique lifestyle, known as the “Kitz flair”, which is rather hard to describe. You simply need to experience it for yourself. The top attraction is probably the legendary Hahnenkamm race with the world-famous “Streif”.
Skiresort.de, the world’s largest test portal for ski resorts, named our Kitzbühel|Kirchberg ski area in Tirol the Best Ski Resort in the World in 2016, after having conferred this title upon the ski area in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well. In addition, World Ski Awards (the Oscars of the skiing community) chose Kitzbühel as the World’s Best Ski Resort – and our company KitzSki as the World’s Best Ski Resort Company.
The Big 5 comprises the Streif, the Brunn, the Pengelstein, KitzSki Extended and the Wagstätt/Wurz. Kitzbühel’s longest ski run is called the Kaser and is part of the longest descent in the wider ski area, which is a staggering 8.3 kilometres in length. At an altitude of more than 1,000 metres, our KitzSki Extended wows skiers with its unrivalled panoramic view.
You’re a ski lover who would like to carve from peak to peak? That’s no problem in the Kitzbühel|Kirchberg ski area, where both skiers and snowboarders love the extra-long tours on the KitzSki Line from Kitzbühel/Kirchberg to Resterhöhe/Pass Thurn (variant A), or in the other direction starting at the Resterhöhebahn and ending in Kitzbühel (variant B). Every stay in the Tirolean ski resort leaves visitors feeling amazed, turning winter holidays in our ski area into unforgettable experiences.
