The Karstweg trail on the Horn

Experience this unique hiking route that starts at the Trattalmmulde, passing spectacular natural viewpoints that reveal many aspects of Earth’s geology. Discover impressive cave-like structures created more than 450 million years ago called ponors (karst holes).

This lovely route stretches 2.4 km from Trattalmmulde (10 min. down into the valley from the Alpenhaus) through the extraordinary karst landscape of the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain. After enjoying countless spectacular viewpoints, you’ll reach the Egglhöhe. The Weanerstadt provides an impressive insight into the history of the earth with its ponors (cave-like structures) – taking you back to the era that preceded the dinosaurs.
